Before and After School Care

The Yarrawarrah Activity Centre, known as ‘The Cottage’, provides before and after school care for children attending Yarrawarrah Public School. The centre provides a safe, caring and supportive environment through a fully supervised and creative program of activities.

The Cottage offers a much-needed service to working parents, opening from 7am to 9am and from 3.20pm and 6pm Monday to Friday. Coordinator Colleen Sanderson and her assistants provide a caring and nurturing environment for all students who attend. The premises is clean and bright, with a covered pergola area and open space for supervised outdoor play. Students enjoy the afternoon tea treats and engage in fun craft activities and games each day. Both permanent and casual vacancies are available.

School Library

The Jenny Goldthorp Library was officially opened 2011 and is located opposite the School Hall. The library is a wonderful resource within our school, with workstations and printing facilities available. Students participate in weekly library lessons, utilising our vast array of books. Our library also contains an interactive whiteboard and conferencing facilities.

School Hall

Our School Hall was constructed in 2006. It is used by the school on a daily basis as part of our dance, drama, music and sport programs and also for our weekly assemblies. The hall is also utilised by local community groups outside of school hours. Enquiries are welcome regarding hiring rates and availability.

Playground and Bush Setting

One of the most unique qualities of Yarrawarrah Public School is our open space, playground facilities and natural bush setting. Students are also provided with many learning opportunities through our school vegetable garden and hen run, which they are supported in caring for and maintaining.

Sensory Garden

Our newest playground and learning centre is our fantastic Sensory Garden.  Here, students are delighted by a feast of opportunities to engage their senses. There are coloured translucent panels, tactile surfaces, amazing scented plants, stepping stones and our gorgeous bridge.  Teachers and students enjoy every opportunity to interact with this lovely environment.
