One of the most unique qualities of Yarrawarrah Public School is our open space, playground facilities and natural bush setting. Our playground features a running track, futsal court, climbing equipment (we call the 'Tarantula'), a sandpit and a full-sized basketball court.
Students are also provided with many learning opportunities through our school vegetable garden, which they are supported in caring for and maintaining.
Our classrooms are welcoming and modern, providing all students with the best learning environment. Every classroom features comfortable furniture, air conditioning and a Comm Box, so lessons are engaging and interactive. Students have access to the latest technology and regularly use Chromebooks and iPads to assist them in their learning.
The Yarrawarrah Activity Centre, known as ‘The Cottage’, provides before and after school care for children attending Yarrawarrah Public School. The centre provides a safe, caring and supportive environment through a fully supervised and creative program of activities. All canteens in NSW public schools must meet certain requirements. These include providing more healthy food and drink options – to make the healthy choice an easy choice for students. Visit Healthy school canteens to learn more.
Yarrawarrah's canteen is operated by our fantastic parent and carer community. Over the counter sales are available on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Lunch orders are available on Fridays. Lunch orders are processed online through School24: www.school24.com.au/login, school registration ID 25231963.
The Jenny Goldthorp Library was officially opened 2011 and is located opposite the School Hall. The library is a wonderful resource within our school, with workstations and printing facilities available. Students participate in weekly library lessons, utilising our vast array of books. Our library also contains an interactive whiteboard and conferencing facilities.
Our school has a dedicated STEM room where students engage in using a variety of equipment, including robotics, to build both their technogical and critical thinking skills.

Another unique feature of our playground is our fantastic Sensory Garden. Here, students are delighted by a feast of opportunities to engage their senses. There are coloured translucent panels, tactile surfaces, amazing scented plants, stepping stones and our gorgeous bridge. Teachers and students enjoy every opportunity to interact with this lovely environment.
